Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 24–36 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the season. Monitor for slugs and snails. Cut back all foliage in late fall after frost. Divide every 4–5 years in spring if desired. Fertilize lightly in spring. Lone Star has large, striking, narrow, lance-shaped leaves with vivid coloring- the elongated, star-like leaf shape is quite different from the typical rounded or heart-shaped hosta leaf. The Shadowland® breeding provides excellent vigor and exceptional ornamental character for a distinctive, architectural presence in the shade garden.
