Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season- lupines need reliable moisture. Deadhead spent flower spikes promptly to extend bloom and encourage a second flush- allow some spikes to set seed for self-sowing if naturalizing is desired. Cut back to the basal foliage in late summer. West Country™ lupines are more vigorous and longer-lived than older strains. Salmon Star produces vivid, warm salmon-pink flower spikes with a star-bright quality. Largely pest-free. Monitor for slugs on young growth.
