Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, humus-rich, slightly acidic soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly throughout the growing season- do not allow the soil to dry out. Consistent moisture is the single most important care factor for astilbe success. Fertilize in spring and after flowering with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when the center of the clump begins to die out. The graceful, arching pink plumes are particularly fine-textured and airy among astilbe varieties.
