Connecticut Slate Dwarf White Pine

Plant in spring or fall in well-drained soil. This compact, mounding white pine is ideal for small gardens, rock gardens, and mixed borders. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball and water thoroughly. Mulch lightly to retain moisture through the first season. Keep well watered during the first growing season.

No regular pruning is required to maintain shape. If growth control is desired, pinch back the soft new candle growth in spring by about half. Water during dry spells and apply a light balanced fertilizer in spring. Very low maintenance once established. The soft blue-green needles provide year-round texture and color in the garden.
