Planting Tips

Plant in average to moist, well-drained soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers for continuous bloom, or leave seed heads for birds. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free. The deeply cut, fern-like foliage is distinctively fine-textured and ornamental even when the plant is not in bloom. The large, golden-yellow, black-eyed daisy flowers are produced over a long season in summer and are highly attractive to pollinators. A bold, easy, and long-lived native perennial.
