Double Coded® Raspberry Beret Coneflower

Raspberry Beret carries fully double raspberry-pink flowers that read as pom-poms rather than daisies, on sturdy stems that hold them upright. Echinacea Double Coded Raspberry Beret grows 18 to 20 inches tall and 22 to 24 inches wide in full sun to part sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 8.

The petal count is high enough that the cone disappears entirely under the doubling. Bloom runs through summer into fall, and the flowers are lightly fragrant and cut well.

The habit spreads wider than it grows tall, which suits the front of a border or a container.

Coneflowers take drought, heat, humidity, and poor soil once established, and they want well-drained ground. Winter wet is the usual cause of failure, so avoid low spots that stay saturated. Deer generally leave them alone.
