Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent blooms to maintain continuous flowering, or leave seed heads for birds. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Watch for aster yellows- remove and discard any distorted or infected plants immediately. Largely otherwise pest-free. The large, vivid flowers are produced reliably over a long season on sturdy, well-branched stems. Excellent for pollinators and cutting.
