Russian Cypress

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. This low-growing, spreading conifer requires virtually no maintenance. No pruning is needed to maintain the natural, mounding form. No fertilization is generally needed. Largely pest- and disease-free. The feathery, dark green foliage turns an attractive bronze-purple in winter, adding seasonal interest. An excellent, tough, low-maintenance evergreen groundcover for slopes, banks, and open areas.
