Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant. Cut back to 6–8 inches from the ground in early spring — do not cut back in fall. Denim 'n Lace has a more compact, upright habit than older Russian sage varieties and is far less prone to flopping. The silvery-white, aromatic stems and deeply cut, fragrant foliage are ornamental all season. The vivid, lavender-blue flower spikes from midsummer through fall are outstanding for pollinators. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. A refined, well-behaved Russian sage for the dry sunny border.
