Honeymoon® Sandy Shores Lenten Rose

Plant in spring or fall in a shaded or partially shaded spot with moist, humus-rich soil. Lenten roses are one of the most rewarding shade perennials — evergreen in mild climates and remarkably long-lived. Incorporate compost into the planting area and space plants 18–24 inches apart. Water well after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep. Avoid hot, dry, or sunny locations.

The most important care task is removing the old, leathery foliage in late winter before the flowers emerge — this showcases the blooms and removes any fungal issues on old leaves. Once established, lenten roses are very low maintenance. They self-seed over time to gradually fill in an area. No regular fertilizing is needed in organically rich soil. Water during summer dry spells.
