Black Adder Giant Hyssop

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Lean, well-drained conditions produce the best, most compact growth.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead or shear back spent flower spikes to encourage continuous bloom over a very long season from midsummer through fall. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. The tall, dense, deep violet-blue flower spikes are outstanding for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds and exceptionally long-lasting in the garden and as a cut flower.
