Planting Tips

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Set the crown no more than 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent flowers. Stake if needed. Remove all foliage in late fall. Do not transplant or divide unless absolutely necessary- Itoh peonies are long-lived and resent disturbance. Fertilize lightly in spring and after flowering. Julia Rose produces striking, multi-toned flowers that shift from soft apricot-peach to rosy-pink and cream as they age- the flower color changes day by day, creating a dynamic, ever-shifting display. An award-winning, extraordinarily beautiful Itoh peony.
