Plant in average, well-drained soil. Tolerates clay and poor soils. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 4–5 years in spring if desired. No fertilization needed. Largely pest-free. String Theory is a fine-leaved bluestar selection with especially delicate, thread-like foliage that creates an extraordinary feathery texture in the garden. The pale blue star flowers in spring and brilliant yellow fall foliage color are consistent and reliable. An exceptionally refined native perennial.
