Bernice's Legacy Bearded Iris

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. Space 12–18 inches apart. Plant the rhizome shallowly- the top of the rhizome should be at or just barely below the soil surface, exposed to sun. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly after planting. Once established, bearded iris is quite drought tolerant. Divide clumps every 3–4 years in mid-to-late summer to maintain vigor and bloom quality- overcrowded clumps bloom poorly. After dividing, replant with the tops of rhizomes exposed. Watch for iris borer- a serious pest that tunnels into rhizomes; remove and destroy affected sections promptly. Remove foliage in late fall. Fertilize lightly in spring and after bloom. Bernice's Legacy produces beautiful, well-formed flowers in distinctive coloring.
