Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Lean conditions and good drainage produce the most floriferous, long-lived plants.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous bloom from midsummer through fall. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring. No fertilization needed in lean soil. Largely pest-free. The tall, slender stems topped with golden-yellow flowers sway gracefully in the breeze and are excellent for cutting. A reliable, long-blooming native coreopsis for naturalistic and meadow plantings.
