Delgenius® Chantay Delphinium

Plant in spring in fertile, moist, well-drained soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Chantay produces soft, pastel-toned flower spikes on the improved Delgenius series plants that have sturdier stems and better heat tolerance than traditional delphiniums. Incorporate compost and water consistently throughout the growing season. Provide support in exposed or windy sites.

Deadhead spent spikes promptly to encourage a second flush of bloom. Cut back by about one-half after the first major bloom. Fertilize in spring. All parts are toxic if ingested. The Delgenius series outperforms old-fashioned hybrid delphiniums in most garden situations — more compact, sturdier, and more reliably perennial. A beautiful, improved cottage garden perennial for sunny borders with adequate moisture.
