Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent flowers for continuous bloom. Shear back by one-third if plants become leggy midseason. Cut back in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. The brilliant, cherry-red flowers are vivid and rich, produced over a very long season with a spicy-sweet clove fragrance. A bold, saturated color for sunny borders and container plantings.
