SpinTop® Red Blanketflower

Plant in spring in average, well-drained to dry soil, spacing 12–18 inches apart. SpinTop Red is a compact blanket flower with vivid, deep red flowers with fringed petals over a very long blooming season from early summer through fall. It requires excellent drainage — wet soils cause rot. No soil amendment needed. Water moderately and reduce as the plant establishes.

Deadhead spent blooms to keep new flowers forming through the very long season. Cut back by one-third in midsummer if plants look tired. Divide every two to three years in spring. No heavy fertilizing needed. Blanket flowers are exceptionally heat and drought tolerant once established. SpinTop's compact habit stays tidy and is ideal for the front of borders, rock gardens, and containers. Outstanding for late-season pollinators.
