Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 15–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the season; moderately drought tolerant once established. Cut back by half after the main flush of bloom in early summer to tidy the plant and encourage a fresh flush of foliage and sometimes additional flowers. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. The spotted purple stems and attractive, spotted foliage are ornamental even when the plant is not in bloom. The pink to lavender flowers with dark veins are produced over a long season. Largely pest-free.
