Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 15–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant- actually one of the more drought-tolerant cranesbill species available. After the first flush of magenta flowers, cut back by about half to tidy the plant and encourage a second flush of blooms and fresh foliage in late summer. Cut to the ground in late fall. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. The deep magenta-crimson flowers are vivid and long-lasting.
