Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to moist, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season. This native helenium relative produces vivid, golden-yellow flowers with a warm orange flush in midsummer. Divide every 2–3 years in spring to keep clumps vigorous and tidy. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. An excellent native perennial for the sunny border, providing reliable midsummer color when many spring perennials have finished blooming.
