Custard Candy Daylily

Plant in moist, well-drained soil amended with compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly around the base.

Water regularly, especially during dry spells. Remove spent flower scapes after blooming is complete. Divide every 3–4 years in spring or fall when clumps become overcrowded. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Largely pest-free. The creamy yellow flowers with a deep red eye zone are a distinctive and attractive bicolor combination. Daylilies are among the most carefree, adaptable perennials in the garden.
