Joan Senior Daylily

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained to average soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Joan Senior is a classic, nearly-white daylily — one of the most popular and widely grown white-toned daylilies. It produces large, cream-white flowers with a green throat in midsummer on a vigorous, adaptable plant. Incorporate compost into the planting area and water well.

Deadhead spent blooms daily for the neatest appearance. Divide every three to four years when flowering declines and clumps become crowded. Late summer or early fall is the best time to divide. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. Water during extended dry spells. The classic, near-white flowers of Joan Senior provide a clean, cool contrast to the many hot-colored daylily varieties. Long-blooming and very reliable.
