Fire and Ice Hosta

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Water consistently throughout the season. Slugs and snails are the primary pests- use bait or barriers as needed. The dramatic white-centered, green-edged leaves hold their sharp, crisp variegation best in partial shade- too much sun bleaches the white centers. Cut back all foliage in late fall. Divide every 4–5 years in spring if desired. Fertilize lightly in spring. One of the most striking and popular hostas for its bold, high-contrast variegation.
