Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is absolutely essential- lavender will not survive in wet, heavy, or poorly drained soil.

Care Tips

Water after planting then reduce significantly once established. Shear back by one-third immediately after the first flush of bloom to encourage compact, dense regrowth. Shear lightly again in early spring to remove winter damage. Avoid cutting into old, leafless wood. Fertilize very lightly in spring. Imperial Gem is a compact, reliable English lavender with deep violet-purple flower spikes and excellent fragrance. Deer resistant and largely pest-free. One of the most dependable lavender selections for cold-climate gardens.
