Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 12–15 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent spikes promptly to stimulate rebloom and prolong the plant's life. Allow some self-sowing to maintain the planting over time. Watch for aphids on flower spikes and slugs in cool, wet conditions. The Gallery series is compact and sturdy enough to stand without staking. Mulch to keep the root zone cool. The vivid red flower spikes are a bold, striking color in the late spring border.
