Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base. Choose a permanent location- lupines resent root disturbance.

Watch for aphids and slugs. Lupines are short-lived perennials, typically lasting 2–4 years, so allow natural self-seeding or resow periodically to maintain the planting. Mulch to keep roots cool.
