Planting Tips

Plant in moist to average, well-drained soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Wild mint spreads by underground runners- plant where it can spread naturally or contain it with a root barrier.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; once established it is quite adaptable and tolerates moderate drought. Wild mint spreads vigorously- divide every 1–2 years in spring to control spread and keep the planting tidy. Cut back stems in late fall or early spring. The strongly mint-scented foliage is excellent for culinary use, teas, and as an insect repellent. The small, lavender flower clusters in summer attract pollinators. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
