Pairs well with

Smoky blue-grey foliage forms a low, dense mound that is completely covered in giant raspberry-red flower clusters in late summer. This ultra-tough groundcover thrives in heat and poor soil, needing almost no water once established.

Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Dazzleberry is a sedum with attractive, wine-red to burgundy succulent foliage topped by brilliant pink flowers in late summer and fall. Good drainage is essential. No soil amendment is needed. Water sparingly and reduce further as the plant establishes its excellent drought tolerance.

Care Tips

Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. The rich, dark succulent foliage provides outstanding all-season interest even before the fall flowers emerge. Divide every three to four years in spring. No fertilizing is needed in average soils. The deep, wine-red foliage makes an excellent contrast to lighter-colored companion plants throughout the season. An exceptional sedum for multi-season interest in sunny, well-drained borders.
