Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Dig a wide planting hole, amend generously with compost, and water deeply after planting. Mulch well around the base. Choose a site with good air circulation. Evelyn is one of the most intensely fragrant roses ever introduced and deserves a prominent place in the garden where its scent can be appreciated.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, cutting healthy canes back by one-third and removing dead or weak growth. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering through the season. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer with a rose fertilizer. The large, deeply cupped apricot-peach blooms and extraordinary fragrance make Evelyn a garden treasure worth every bit of care it requires.
