Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall near a sturdy arbor, trellis, or fence. Dig a wide planting hole, incorporate compost, and water deeply. Apply 2–3 inches of mulch. Train canes to the support as they grow. Blaze is a vigorous, classic climbing rose with scarlet-red flowers and a strong initial bloom plus good repeat flowering throughout summer.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring by removing dead wood. Tie canes horizontally along the support to maximize lateral branching and flowering. Deadhead spent bloom clusters to encourage repeat flowering. Fertilize every four to six weeks from spring through late summer. Water consistently. Blaze has been one of the most popular climbing roses in America for decades — reliable, vigorous, and producing an exceptional display of red flowers in summer.
