Coral Drift® Rose opens bright coral-orange flowers, the most saturated warm color in the line and one that holds rather than bleaching in summer heat. Rosa 'Meidrifora' grows 18 inches to 2 feet tall and spreads 2 to 3 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 11.
Bloom is continuous from mid-spring until frost, and the flowers clean off on their own so no deadheading is needed.
Drift roses are a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses, bred to stay low and spread wide while blooming continuously. They were developed to fill the awkward spots: hillsides, narrow strips along a walk, the front edge of a bed, containers. All of them are self-cleaning, disease resistant, and need no deadheading.
The habit is distinctly mounding rather than flat-spreading, which gives it more presence in a bed than the lower Drifts. Disease resistance is high and winter hardiness is excellent, so it holds clean foliage through humid summers and comes back reliably in cold gardens. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Shipped on its own roots.
