Bright yellow double flowers stand out against clean disease-free foliage, and the yellow holds rather than bleaching pale. Rosa 'BAIage', sold as Easy Elegance® High Voltage, grows 3 to 5 feet tall and 2 to 4 feet wide in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 7.
The flowers are fragrant and shed their spent petals cleanly, so the plant stays tidy without deadheading.
Most of the Easy Elegance roses come from the renowned breeder Ping Lim, aimed at putting hybrid tea flower quality on a plant that survives a northern winter without a spray program. They grow on their own roots rather than grafted, so a plant killed back in a hard winter comes back as itself. Pruning is a cutback in early spring and nothing more.
It is heat tolerant and vigorous with an upright habit, suiting the middle of a border or a row along a fence.
