Pairs well with

Cherry red to fuchsia petals striped with yellow, and every flower carries a different pattern, so no two blooms on the plant match. Rosa 'Meiwentar', sold as Winning Streak™, PP 36,641, grows 2 feet tall and wide in full sun, hardy from Zone 6 through Zone 11.

Striped roses are usually the least healthy things in a garden. This one is considerably more disease resistant than the type.

At two feet in both directions it is small enough for a container, a rock garden, or the front edge of a bed.

The floribunda habit means heavy repeat bloom rather than one flower to a stem. The scent is very slight. Cut back by about a third in early spring.

Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 24–30 inches apart in fertile, well-drained soil. Amend the planting hole with compost. Water deeply after planting and apply a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base. Choose a site with good air circulation, which helps prevent foliar disease.

Care Tips

This rose has good disease resistance, making it easier to maintain than many traditional roses. Fertilize in early spring and again in midsummer to support strong blooming. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous bloom through the season. Prune lightly in early spring to remove winter damage and shape the plant.
