Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly alkaline to neutral soil amended with compost. Space 5–7 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first two seasons; moderately drought tolerant once established. Prune immediately after flowering- lilacs bloom on old wood and pruning at any other time removes next year's flower buds. Remove spent flower clusters promptly to improve next year's bloom. Remove any suckers from the base. Fertilize lightly in early spring. This compact selection stays much smaller than traditional lilacs and is a good fit for smaller gardens and foundation plantings.
