Care Tips

Water regularly through the growing season. Pinch or cut stems back by half in late spring to early summer to encourage a more compact, bushy habit and more flower stems in fall- this is the most important maintenance step for asters. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring when the center of the clump becomes open or woody. Powdery mildew may affect lower foliage in late summer but rarely affects overall health. An excellent fall bloomer for butterflies and pollinators.
