Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base to retain moisture and keep roots cool.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season. The golden foliage is most vivid in part shade- too much sun will scorch the leaves. If foliage begins to look tattered in midsummer, trim it back and it may re-flush with cooler fall temperatures. Divide every 3–4 years in early spring. Slugs may be an issue on young growth in cool, moist conditions. All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
