Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Firecracker sedum features vivid, bright red succulent foliage with contrasting pink flower heads in fall — one of the most intensely colored sedum varieties available. Good drainage is essential. No soil amendment needed in average, well-drained conditions. Water sparingly after planting and reduce further as established.

Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. The bright red foliage provides outstanding all-season interest even before the fall flowers appear. Divide every three to four years in spring. No fertilizing needed in average soils. The vivid red foliage color is extraordinary throughout the entire season and becomes most intense in full sun with heat exposure. An exceptional sedum for hot, sunny borders with excellent drainage.
