Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart for a dense privacy hedge. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first 2–3 seasons while establishing- consistent moisture is especially important the first year. Once established it is moderately drought tolerant. Little pruning is needed to maintain the naturally columnar form; a light trim in late spring tidies any irregular growth. Fertilize lightly in early spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Monitor for bagworms and spider mites in hot, dry conditions. Grows quickly into a dense, tall screen.
