Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Pinch stem tips back in late spring to encourage a compact, well-branched plant. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring to keep plants vigorous and tidy. Watch for aster yellows- distorted growth indicates infection; remove and discard affected plants. The vivid, warm pink flowers in fall are cheerful and bold, with good disease resistance compared to many New England asters. Excellent for pollinators.
