Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) enriched with organic matter. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch generously with 2–3 inches of shredded bark or pine needles, keeping mulch away from the crown.

Care Tips

Water consistently, especially during the first season and summer dry spells- shallow-rooted azaleas dry out quickly. Prune lightly immediately after flowering if needed, as buds for the following year set shortly after bloom. Fertilize in spring with an azalea-specific acid fertilizer. Avoid alkaline soils and high-pH water, which will cause yellowing foliage.
