Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the stems.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first two seasons; moderately drought tolerant once established. Green Mountain has a naturally upright, oval form that requires minimal pruning to maintain. Trim lightly in late spring after new growth hardens. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced slow-release fertilizer. Holds excellent dark green winter color without bronzing. Monitor for boxwood leafminer and boxwood blight. Good air circulation reduces disease pressure significantly.
