Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season. After the main spike blooms, cut it back to encourage side shoots and secondary bloom. Allow some flowers to self-sow for future plants. Mulch to protect winter rosettes. Watch for slugs in cool, wet conditions. All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested.
