Wildfire® Winterberry

Plant in moist, well-drained to wet, acidic to average soil. Space 5–7 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch generously. A male pollinator such as Jim Dandy or Apollo is required for berry production on this female plant.

Water consistently and generously- winterberry thrives in moist to wet conditions and is ideal for rain gardens, pond edges, and low-lying sites. Prune out the oldest stems annually in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Wildfire® is a female winterberry with spectacular, vivid orange-red to fire-red berries that clothe the bare stems from fall through winter- the 'wildfire' name captures the intense, burning color perfectly. Outstanding wildlife value. The brilliant fall foliage precedes the berry display. Largely pest-free.
