Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in average, well-drained to dry soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Purrsian Blue is a compact catmint variety with deep, true blue flower spikes and a well-behaved, mounding habit that stays tidier than standard catmint. It thrives in lean, dry conditions — avoid rich or wet soils. No special soil preparation needed. Water moderately and reduce as established.

Care Tips

Cut plants back by about one-half after the first bloom flush to encourage a vigorous second bloom and maintain a compact, tidy mound. Very drought tolerant once established. No fertilizing needed. Catmint is one of the best perennials for long-season bloom, pollinators, and drought tolerance combined. Purrsian Blue's improved compact habit makes it a particularly garden-friendly variety for the front of sunny mixed borders.
