Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 2–3 feet apart. This is one of the softest-needled pines available, making it a wonderful tactile plant for borders, rock gardens, and containers. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball, water thoroughly, and mulch lightly. Keep consistently watered through the first growing season.

Care Tips

No regular pruning is needed to maintain the naturally compact, mounding form. If desired, pinch new candle growth by half in spring to slow growth and maintain density. Water during dry summer spells. A light application of balanced fertilizer in spring supports healthy growth. Excellent low-maintenance year-round structure for small spaces.
