Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Lean conditions produce the best, most compact growth.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent spikes to encourage continuous bloom over a long season and prevent excessive self-seeding. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 2–3 years in spring. No fertilization needed. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Blue Fortune is a widely popular, long-blooming anise hyssop with dense, lavender-blue flower spikes that are outstanding for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds from midsummer through fall.
