Perfect foliage plant for shade! Looks similar to traditional Japanese Painted Fern, but the tips of fronds are double-crested. Plant in the middle of the border!

Plant Crested Surf Japanese Painted Fern in partial to full shade. Use well-draining, humus-rich soil. Space plants 18-24 inches apart. Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Remove dead or damaged fronds to encourage new growth. Protect from strong winds and extreme temperatures.
