Planting Tips

Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Set the crown 2–3 inches below the soil surface. Provide a trellis or support. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to keep the root zone cool.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the season. Rebecca is typically a Group 2 clematis- prune lightly in late winter, removing only dead or weak stems. Feed with a balanced fertilizer in spring and midsummer. Watch for clematis wilt. The large, vivid red flowers with a velvety texture and contrasting golden stamens are exceptionally striking and produced in two distinct flushes- a spectacular first flush in late spring and a reliable second flush in late summer.
