Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Water consistently the first season; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Deadhead spent blooms or leave seed heads for birds. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Watch for aster yellows. The soft, peachy-melon flowers are a fresh and summery color- warm but light, combining beautifully with purples, blues, and bright whites in the summer border. Largely otherwise pest-free.
